The Presidio in San Francisco, CA is a 1500-acre park and National Historic Landmark that served as an all-military post for three different nations; The U.S. Military period lasted from 1846-1994. In 1994, the military moved out of the area, and The Presidio became a recreational hub – have you seen the movie? The grounds are well kept with miles of trails, scenic overlooks, homes to over 5,000 residents, and businesses like Lucasfilm. The Presidio also holds many popular tourist attractions such as Crissy Field with the view of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Walt Disney Museum, and Andy Goldsworthy’s Wood Line.
With so much to do, the need for visitor lodging in the immediate area was in demand. In 2012, Presidio Lodging launched with the intent to solve this problem, and Inn at the Presidio was opened with 22 guest rooms and suites – 17 including fireplaces. In addition, Lodge at the Presidio was opened in June of 2018 adding 42 guest rooms to its tally of available accommodations.
Some amenities included in the price for a room booking: a European continental breakfast served daily and wine and cheese reception held every day. There are no resort fees and a low parking fee of $10/day. The location is also extremely convenient, as it is only a short ride to downtown San Francisco and right next to the Golden Gate Bridge.
We sat down with Hotel Manager, Armando Pardo, to get the inside scoop on what its like working in a boutique hotel environment. He explained, “We have a total of 47 employees, and it’s very family-oriented and relaxed. Everybody really loves to work here, everyone gets along. Because of this, its rare for me to hear any complaints from employees.”
Presidio Lodging has been a client of Payroll Systems since it opened in 2012. They use our Payroll, HR Support, and Timekeeping services.
“Coming from a background of HR and working with bigger properties, I used larger service companies with more complex systems. Since the beginning of our time working with Payroll Systems, it’s been as simple as the click of a button. From adding employees, time edits, submitting payroll, etc. It’s the easiest I’ve ever worked with in my 20-year hospitality career.”
